QETESH & MISTRESS OF THE GODS SHOW
The album Qetesh, released on May 10, 2022, draws inspiration from Egyptian mythology, focusing on the goddess Qetesh, who symbolizes fertility, beauty, and sexuality. This project marked a significant evolution for Belle and The Beats, intertwining music, poetry, and dance to explore themes of love, sexuality, and liberation. The album was produced by Gil Lopez, with Eyal Margalit contributing as a composer and performer. It also features collaborations with Reazun and Davidavi Dolev, as well as a cover of Leonard Cohen’s You Want It Darker. Qetesh embodies the signature Pop Noir sound.
To bring the album to life, Belle and The Beats created The Mistress of the Gods Show, a club performance that premiered at De Melkweg, Amsterdam. The show was a collaboration with artist manager Thirza van Der Weijde and music label Quizical Smile, choreographer and dancer Cheroney Pelypessy, dancers Shanity Alvares and Leonarda Lovrekovic, dramaturg Lulu Sorber, composers and musicians Gil Lopez and Eyal Margalit, sound technician Mohr Music, light designer Jela Nieuwstraten, and visual designer Emanuel Nijkerk.
